The problem
Walcher Messebau stores thousands of fabric graphics and reuses them at every fair. The Ninox database was useful but slow, tied to external software and unavailable to clients and installers.
Thomas FurlanettoCase study · internal and private system
From a Ninox database to a web application for storage, fairs, labels, installers and client decisions.
Protected area of walcher.bz · login required · not indexed

Walcher Messebau stores thousands of fabric graphics and reuses them at every fair. The Ninox database was useful but slow, tied to external software and unavailable to clients and installers.
I rebuilt the complete database as a web application inside the protected area of walcher.bz. I preserved the Ninox logic and formulas and expanded them with new workflows. Data, thumbnails and attachments were imported from the backup directly in the browser.
I handled analysis, design, backend and frontend development, data import, testing and production launch. I developed the system independently, on request and with daily feedback from the design office.
The application is live in the protected Walcher Messebau area. Compared with the previous workflow, the estimated time saving is approximately 94 percent.
Table and card views, search, sorting, status, numbered slots, automatic prices, attachments and a complete change history.
Upload reads the client, dimensions, quantity, year and position from the file name. Order, delivery, fair, hall and PDF apply to all graphics together.
Portrait or landscape A4 labels with a faithful preview, fair lists and client sheets generated in the browser with the corporate font.
Totals, work groups, card view and bulk actions. Installers use a smartphone list with up to 300 backlights and the office sees updates in real time.
A personal link lets clients keep, dispose of or collect each backlight. The office receives the choices by e-mail and applies them with one click.
Custom WordPress plugin using PHP 8, JavaScript, REST API and MySQL. Login access, private files, non-indexed pages and renewable secret links.
03 · Private by design
The application is not public. Some pages are available to clients and installers only through a personal secret link. Internal addresses are neither published nor indexed.
Client data and graphics have been obscured for confidentiality.
05 · PHP 8 · REST API · MySQL
The interface is fully available in German and Italian. Thumbnails are converted and compressed to WebP during upload. More than 6,400 existing thumbnails were compressed in one operation.
